Izmir
Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is linked to the city by the İZBAN suburban train. Metro, trams, buses and ferries take the İzmirim Kart.
Ankara
Esenboğa Airport (ESB) has airport buses to the centre. The metro, Ankaray and city buses take the AnkaraKart.

Practical tips
SIM card
Buy a Turkish SIM at a mobile operator's shop with your passport. Phones from abroad must be registered after a short period.
Transport card
Get your city's transport card on day one. It is cheaper than single tickets and works on most public transport.
Money
Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but carry some cash in Turkish lira for markets, small shops and taxis.
Tipping
In restaurants, around 5–10% is usual if you liked the service. Rounding up the fare is enough in a taxi.
